Publications
From maintaining a short-lived Tumblr blog in her teenage years to crafting grant proposals for clients, writing has been a key component of Venika’s personal and professional life.
Her work first appeared in print in 2011 when she started writing for the The Global Times (Amity Education Group’s in-house publication catering to over 30,000 students). Quickly becoming a regular columnist there, she took the opportunity to interview public figures like Rajdeep Sardesai, Peter Vrooman, Shashi Tharoor, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Alia Bhatt, etc. One of her opinion pieces even appeared in the The Hindu, a national daily newspaper, in June 2013!
At college, apart from writing several research papers under the guidance of her professors, she was an editor for the Sarah Lawrence Political Review from it’s inception in January 2016. In 2018, she published a paper on sex work in the Review.
A year after graduating from college, in August 2019, her academic work (done in collaboration with other researchers) appeared in the Indian Journal of Public Administration.
A chronological list of her published works can be found below.
